Yeah, I don't think so. Canine mammals are carnivores. Feeding your dogs veggies is bad for their digestive systems - they don't have the right digestive system to break down the complex carbohydrates of vegetables.

fantastic article! I already give ALL my dogs carrots instead of raw hide. You can pick up the xl size ones at your local flea market or farmers market. mine are not too keen on cucumbers. but at least I know I can give them zucchini's and sweet potatoes. some times you wonder which veggies they are allowed to have and which will end up harming them. Thank you for the great info!!!!!

Idea is good. BUT Beta-carotene cannot provide vitamin A... Vitamin A has to be cooked with meat for body to absorb easily. You cannot absorb it by eating carrot alone... body cannot break it down...

My dog gets green beans with his meals everyday! He's not too hip on the baby carrots; sometimes they make him vomit. My have to try the cucumbers, tho.'

Veggies are definitely great for dogs, and I agree that cooking them lightly is the best way to give them. Dogs don’t possess the enzyme we humans do to break down raw veggies, so they get the best nutrition from them when you lightly steam them. Great info!
