Montana

On April 13, 2008, a star was born.  We would like to introduce Montana, a 9 month old chocolate lab, who is making her start in two organization DockDogs and Ultimate Air Dogs.  Montana showed a love for water early on in her life and mom, Karman and dad, Eric knew she was set for stardom in Ultimate Air Dogs and DockDogs (besides the fact that they say it is an addicting sport anyway).  Since then and after working very hard, Montana has earned an AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and has made several great appearances at Ultimate Air Jumping and DockDogs events.

Her first official jumping event (they must be over 6 months to qualify), in Novi, Michigan proved to be a great start!  Montana earned 2nd place in the senior jumping division at a UAD event.  But wait…. this is just the first official event.   In her second competition, last weekend, in Louisville, Kentucky @ a DockDogs event, Montana earned 2 First place finishes, 1 Second place finish, and 1 Third place finish!  This has clutched her a spot in the finals for the semi-pro division.

Supervising Your Dog

We like to remind all dog owners especially those unfamiliar with bully sticks and how their dog(s) will react to them, to make sure to supervise your dog when giving any treat or chew including bully sticks and dog bones.  Some dogs that are not used to bully sticks may get extremely excited and try to swallow it quickly rather than chew it; this is also common with dog bones.  It is important to ensure that your dog is grinding a dog bone down rather than trying to "bit it".  Biting on bones (because they are so hard) could be harmful especially if done repetitively.

We also want to stress that it is of particular importance to supervise smaller breeds of dogs, as they have smaller internal systems.  We recommend taking bully sticks or any other chew like an Antlerz, away from your dog when there is 1-2 inches left.  While all of our products are safe and fully digestible it is still important to supervise your dog to ensure that they do not have any adverse effects.

The Shiba Inu Puppy Cam

I can’t help it ….. it’s totally addictive.   I spend hours watching puppies sleep, puppies play, puppies eat and puppies piddle and I’m not the only one.  Over the last month, hundreds of loyal followers have tuned in to watch the every move of Shiba’s puppies on UStream Live TV.

The six Shiba Inu puppies, three boys and three girls turned 4 weeks old on November 4th 2008.  They now have their own collars that help to identify them.

Girls:

- Aki (Green collar)
- Akoni (Black collar)
- Ando (Blue collar)

The feed has had over millions of views and nearly 300 subscribers… all watching these tiny pups grow right before our eyes.

It will be interesting to watch these pups grow and have their first taste of dog food, their first bully sticks and finally find their new owners.

Conscientious Dog Treat and Chew Picks

When we started our company a few years ago we knew that we wanted to make sure we were confident and happy knowing that everything we offered for sale was something that we could be proud in and something that was healthy and rewarding for dogs.  We have to be honest it is tempting to sell popular dog treats like rawhide, or stuff packed with wheat and gluten; but we have learned over time that this is just simply not healthy and refuse to offer it.  Pretty packaging does not take the place of good nutrition, dog treats with ingredients you can't understand or pronounce are probably not healthy, and treats shaped like little steaks that smell like plastic just don't cut it!  Our commitment to you is to continue to scour the earth to find the unique, natural and healthy dog treats and chews like bully sticks you have come to know us for.

We must say that in the beginning we were "casual" dog owners and did not understand that it was important to really look at what we were feeding our dogs, how often they eat, how often they excersise etc.; but as our knowledge of the pet industry has grown, so has our knowledge of our own pet's health.  We hope that you find our selection as rewarding as we do as we routinely use all of the products which we sell.
