Montana competed in APDT Rally Obedience trials this past weekend and earned her RL1 title or Rally Level 1.  She placed 4th in her class in 2 of the 4 trials and earned an award of excellence with her scores. They will be back to dock jumping this coming weekend in Novi Michigan.

Dock Dogs venue- Illinois State Fair event

Highlights of the event:  Team Eric/Montana placed 2nd in Speed Retrieve in the Express Division in which they hold their current title.  Team Karman/Montana earned (2) 2nd place finishes in Big Air Waves in their titled division and also had 2 PB scores as a team of 18' 3"  and 19'7".  Montana improved her overall average in Dock Dogs with Mom  at this one as her scores were the highest they have been this season.  But there is more for this team yet, Montana and mom placed 2nd in the Speed Retrieve Express division.

Ultimate Air Dogs venue- Ultimate Air Games, Woods & Water- Imlay City, Michigan event

Highlights of event: Team Montana participated in her First Ultimate Air Games in which all teams compete against all other titled teams in their division.  Montana and Eric played the game of Catch It and had their PB catch of the season.  Montana & Karman earned a spot in the Senior Finals of Ultimate Air with a jump of 19' 10".  The top ten for each division advanced to the finals round for this event.  The competition was extremely fierce and Team Montana was thrilled to make the finals round.  Montana gave it her all to take 5th place overall in the end but had a celebration of her all time PB of 20'0"  in Ultimate Air. Mom & Dad were so proud of her that they jumped in the pool afterward to celebrate their accomplishment!

1st event:  Ultimate Air Dogs event- Dupage Co Fair- Chicago, IL

Highlights:  Montana had a PB of 19'10" during the Senior Division Finals of Ultimate Air and took 2nd place in her division.  Eric & Montana tried a new event for them called Catch It- Dog has to catch the toy for the jump to be scored.  Montana caught her toy both times and placed 6th overall on the first time event. Next UAD event will be the Ultimate Air Games in Imlay City, Michigan in September.

2nd event: DockDogs event- Washington Fair- St Louis, MO

Highlights:  Team Karman/Montana placed 1st in the Speed Retrieve Express division during their first round and qualified for SR finals in which they earned their Speed Retrieve Express title.   Team Eric/ Montana had (2 )2nd place finishes in Big Air Waves & placed 3rd in the Speed Retrieve Express Division.They also had 3 PB's back to back to back, 2 of which came in the finals round of Big Air.  Montana likes to save the best for last!  Montana's biggest jump of the weekend was an 18'11" jump which earned her 4th place in the Semi-Pro Finals for the weekend.

So, what's next for our Best Bully Sticks Sponsored athlete & shining star?

Next stop for team Montana will be at the Illinois State Fair in a few weeks.  Then off to Nationals in October in Ohio which will conclude the DockDogs season until January 2010. Montana in jumping action in the Kentucky Dock Dogs Competition at Lee's Ford Marina!

For all you readers wondering about Montana, wonder no more we have an official update on this highly competitive, gifted dock jumping dog! Kentucky Dock Dogs held their club fun jump at Lee's Ford Marina on Lake Cumberland this past weekend.  It was perfect weather and several dogs came out to jump.  Montana placed 2nd overall in her division.  She also was a working dog that wore the Chase vest to help raise money for the charity Chase Away Canine Cancer. Below are some neat pics of the event.

She and her trainers are on the road again for Chicago, IL area for another competition this weekend. Stay tuned for more updates!!

A quick update on the UKC Premier event which was held in Kalamazoo, MIchigan. Team Eric/Karman/& Montana earned their Senior UAD jumping title this weekend.  They are working towards earning their first UKC title for dock jumping.  Montana's best jump of the weekend was a huge jump of 18' 10".   She also tried a new event the Ultimate Vertical.  Montana has become quite the little celebrity amongst the crowd. One mother with her kids asked if they could get a picture with her this weekend. Team Montana will be heading to Evansville, IN this coming weekend for Freedom Festival. So, if any of our readers are in the area don't hesitate to stop by the event, see her in action & cheer Montana on!! Hey, while you are there you can stop and get a quick picture with our celebrity sponsored dog. We are so proud of her!!!
