This Power Pooch Smoothie recipe gets a round of  a paws from Sushi and Espy (doggy approved!). Don't let the name fool you, this is a sweet treat you both can enjoy. Ready, Set, Blend!

Ingredients:

Directions:

1.  Process all the ingredients in a blender at high speed until smooth.

2. Smoothie can be served frozen or unfrozen. Pour pooch smoothies into bowl or freeze in ice cube trays or small bowls.

3. Remove from the freezer, set on the floor and let your pooch lick the treat.

Dogs enrich our lives so show your loyal & loving dog gratitude with belly rubs, a walk or a delicious meal.  Feast your eyes on this Thank Your Dog Casserole recipe, it is a wonderful way for any dog owner to show their appreciation. Show 'em that you love 'em with a hearty meal!

Ingredients:

• 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO)
• 1/4 pound ground turkey
• 1 small carrot, chopped or grated
• 1/4 cup green peas
• 1 cup unseasoned stuffing bread cubes
• 1/2 tablespoon butter
• 1/2 tablespoon flour
• 2 cups turkey or chicken stock

Directions:

1. In a medium skillet, heat the EVOO, 1 turn of the pan, over medium heat. Add the turkey and cook until light brown, about 2 minutes. Add the chopped carrot and cook for 5 minutes. Add the peas and lower the heat to low. Stir in the bread cubes and remove from the heat.
2. In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour, then add 1 cup turkey stock and cook, whisking constantly, until the gravy thickens, about 3 minutes. Remove from the heat.
3. Soften the stuffing with the remaining 1 cup stock. Place in a bowl for your pup and let cool for about 5 minutes. Top with the gravy and let cool for another minute before serving.

Your pup will lap up this refreshing tropical cup during the dog days of summer. This fruit salsa is not only delicious, healthy but most importantly pet-friendly.

Ingredients:

• 1 mango, chopped
• 1 banana, chopped
• 1/2 cup fresh berries, such as blackberries, raspberries or chopped strawberries
• 1/2 cup chopped cooked chicken
• Juice of 1/2 lime
• 5 to 8 fresh mint leaves, chopped

Directions:

Toss all of the ingredients together.

Looking for a pooch friendly and savory recipe? Well you got to check out this simple, easy and nutritious doggy meatloaf recipe (the ultimate comfort food!). This enticing recipe will get dogs lips drooling and tails wagging!

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
• 3 stalks celery, chopped
• 2 carrots, grated
• 1 apple, cored and diced
• 2 eggs
• 2 slices white bread, torn into pieces
• 1 cup regular rolled oats
• 1 cup wheat germ
• 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
• 4 medium potatoes, cubed
• 3 carrots, chopped
• 1 stalk celery, cubed

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Coat a large roasting pan with oil and set aside.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, 3 stalks of celery, grated carrots, apple, eggs, bread, oats, wheat germ and tomato paste using your hands. Divide the meat mixture into four equal parts and make loaf shapes. Place the loaves in the roasting pan. Surround them with the potatoes, remaining carrots and remaining celery. Cover the pan with a lid.
3. Bake for 80 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the meat is cooked through. The internal temperature should be 175 degrees F (80 degrees C) when taken with a meat thermometer. Allow to cool.
4. Portion the food into containers with one loaf and one quarter of the vegetables in each one. Refrigerate. To serve, give your dog 1/3 of a container with each portion of kibble.

Summer is just a wag around the corner with warm weather fast approaching. While you and your dog are enjoying some fun in the sun we know the perfect way to cool down when the mercury rises. You guess it....ice cream is just what the doctor ordered. Check out this easy, inexpensive, quick and pawsome recipe for Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Ice Cream that will cool and refresh any hot dog. What we love about this recipe is that it only takes a few minutes to make and is a lot cheaper then buying Frosty Paws at your local pet store.

Ingredients:

3-4 ripe bananas
32 ounces plain yogurt (lowfat = less calories)
1 cup peanut butter

Directions:

1. Toss the bananas, peanut butter, and yogurt into a blender and blend until it’s mixed.

2.Next, pour the mixture into ice trays. You’ll need about five or six ice trays for this amount. (If you don’t have that many available, just pour some of the mixture into a plastic zippered bag and toss it in the freezer to break up when you’re ready to serve.)

3. Pop the trays in the freezer and in a few hours your doggie ice cream is ready to serve!
