Do you have a favorite dog rescue or shelter? Well we want to know about them & reward them. We are giving 5 lucky dog shelters $600 each of our Fish Stix for dogs.
Each rescue will receive:
150 6-inch fish stix & 100 12-inch fish stix.
250 total fish stix for a total value of $600!!! These are going to make some wonderful rescue dogs very happy!
About Fish Stix

2. Than after a week of entries we will take the top nominations so you can vote on the top 5.
5 lucky dog shelters will each win $600 worth of fish stix (250 stix each)
(one of the large orders we recently received had some sticks that were broken & varied in size, what we would consider 2nds. Well dogs don't know the difference & we are not the kind of company that wastes. So what better than to reward some great rescue dogs with yummy organic "2nds" fish stix.)

I would like to nominate San Diego Pug Rescue. Aside from being genuinely nice people, they are the most well-organized rescue group I know, and incredibly active. They take in ALL pug, regardless of age or health issues, this year alone they have taken in more than 100 pugs. If it were not for SDPR, we would never have met our amazing 12 year old pug, George. He fills our life with laughter and love everyday! I tell everyone I know about them (my sister also rescue a pug through them) and all of the amazing work that they do! I cannot think of a more deserving group than SDPR!

I would like to nominate Pug Rescue of San Diego. http://www.pugbutts.com They do amazing work and have even taken in rescues from Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange Counties. Our Anakin came from PRSD about 10 years ago and he is the sweetest guy ever.

I nominate Pug Rescue of San Diego. They are an all volunteer organization in existence for over 20 years. They work with abandoned, abused, and relinquished pugs. These dogs are put in foster home environments where they can get the personalized attention, care, and love that they need. Also a lot of these dogs are relinquished because they developed health problems (which most are treatable, but require money) or because they are old. Please help PRSDC help pugs!

I wholeheartedly nominate Pug Rescue of San Diego, who just provided my family with an adorable 6-year old pug. Our Ms. Puggy has suffered from cancer twice, and it was PRSD that nursed her back to health and kept her in a wonderful foster home while they searched for a permanent home. If they treat every one of their pugs with this level of care (and they do), then they deserve all the monetary support they can get!

We really wanted a pug and they made it possible. They are always taking pugs in, even the most struggling and unhealthy ones and making them better and comfortable.

We are a 501(c)3 organization who has rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed countless needy Rat Terriers and has Happy Tail stories to share at our website with photos. What an incredible organization of individuals who work tirelessly and selflessly to volunteer their own precious time in the name of these precious dogs for everything, including, but not limited to website maintenence, contracts, home visits, reference/background checks, transports, public awareness, fundraisers, etc. We get our “Paychecks” every time a sweet Rattie is placed into a special forever home – it would be wonderful to be able to award the wonderful babies with some treats for being brave and trusting and loving companions while they are with us and while they begin their new lives in their “happily ever after” homes. They are relentless in finding foster homes and making sure that each and every dog has a new chance at a better life. They hold many fund raising events throughout the year in order to continue their rescue efforts. This year Pug Rescue of SD has taken in more dogs than ever. I nominate Furry Friends Rescue in Fremont, CA! They are extremely active in rescuing animals out of shelters in the bay area and also doing outreach and education. I nominate AARF of Winston-Salem, NC (a no-kill shelter). I volunteer and foster dogs for them. They have only 1 paid, part-time employee that works a 40hr work week. 80% off AARF’s budget is dedicated to providing medical care to the animals it rescues. Their adoption stats are phenomenal too! Cat and kitten adoptions in 2008 were over 264. That same year an amazing 292 of the 302 dogs and puppies were provided loving homes. As of July 2009, AARF has adopted out 99 of the 146 dogs/puppies (including the remaining 10 from 2008), 28 cats and 75 kittens.
Through education AARF encourages community residents on the importance of viewing their pets as family members and not disposable. For instance, some families face economic hardships that force them to surrender their pets. AARF works with these families to provide solutions so the pets can remain in their owner’s care.

I would like to nominate Furry Friends Rescue in Fremont, CA.
They don’t rescue just one breed, they rescue every dog they can! They rescued a pregnant chihuahua mix mutt who was 2 days from being put down. I adopted her and it was a fabulous experience for our whole family! We kept one of the puppies, and Furry Friends found loving families for the other 5! These two dogs love me so much they both have to sit on my lap when I am on the toilet, ha!!

I’d like to nominate Pug Rescue of San Diego County. We have taken in more than 100 Pugs this year alone and I am sure that the Pugs in foster care would love a bully stick or two to make their stay with us just a bit easier. As an all volunteer organization, these bully sticks would save us some money, as all fosters have their medical and other expenses paid for by PRSDC during their stay with the volunteer foster parents in their homes.

I would like to nominate San Diego Pug Rescue. We adopted 2 adorable “Old Ladies” a couple of years ago and they are a true joy. SDPR has taken in a record number of pugs since the beginning of the year. They are in desperate need of cash donations, as well as treats, toys, food, VOLUNTEERS, etc….
