I am Mugsy from Howard Beach. I lost my home due to Sandy. Worse, my master died of a heart attack after a week of taking care of our storm devastated neighbors. I stayed in the wrecked home alone for weeks, waiting for my dad to return. Nice people came to get me on Thanksgiving Day. I am being treated for PTSD at a wonderful, experienced foster's home, Mary M Hannigan. I need a forever home after my rehab. Please share my story... You never know, you just may have the connections to find me my new family. Thank you and prayers to all of you still suffering from this horrific storm. ♥

We have a 17 month old Blue Cane Corso, Avalanche's Cinzia Juniper Belle. She is smaller in stature but a beautiful representation of the Cane Corso. She is loving, and eager to please but sometimes can be stubborn. Constantly at our sides, she requires a lot of attention and interaction. She loves children but is wary of other dogs. She is extremely strong even at 62 lbs. They play hard and you will it difficult to find a toy that will last more than a week with their large powerful jaws. A full sized Corso can pop a basketball!
Italian Mastiffs require strong leadership. Our entire family took part in her training. Very protective of their family and territory, they can be formidable to strangers. Corsos with the right temperament and training have proven to be wonderful police , protection and service dogs. Some are even trained for hunting. Be sure to do a lot research if you are thinking about getting a Cane Corso to see if this breed is right for your family and lifestyle. They are often said to be one of the best dogs you will ever own but they need a lot of early socialization and training is recommended. We were told, "A Cane Corso is a lot of dog.." this definitely holds true!
