For anyone looking into getting a Coton of their own, please check with the CTCA (http://cotonclub.org) to find a breeder instead of the AKC. The AKC registers puppy mill dogs and has other unethical practices. Do not trust an AKC breeder of Coton de Tulear. They are aware of the damage that will come to the Coton de Tulear by joining the AKC and do not care. They have made it clear that their priorities are in participating in dog shows and not the health of pure bred dogs. The Coton de Tulear Club of America (CTCA) is not a part of the AKC and is all about the health and well being of the breed.
