We had 3 miniature Schnauzers and we loved them so much. They brought us so much happiness. We have just rescued one from the Schnauzer rescue. He is two years old and such a good dog. They make great pets. We lost Fritz 5 years ago and then the mother Callie in Dec. 2011. We lost their puppy which was 13 in July of this year. Brewster has some big puppy shoes to fill but he is doing a good job. We have never had a Giant Schnauzer, but I am sure they are great dogs.

Alice, we just rescued a male from the Schnauzer rescue. You might want to check that out. He is a wonderful dog. He is our 4th. We just lost Mindy to cancer in July of this year. It is really hard to lose them but they give you much joy. Good luck.

no, we had a regular size Schanuzer that we bought at a rescue shelter. I love, love love this breed! she didn't know how to play when we got her , so we had to teach her , and yes..this breed is very affectionate and smart. our " Poppy " loved to have her face touched. she was probably around 3 years old when we got her. you could tell that she have lived a rough life. she lived with us for 9 years until her health failed with heart problems and she was a diabetic and finally blindness. we had to send her to doggie heaven in July of 2011 and I still miss her every day! she brought such joy to our lives and we returned the same to her. I would love to get another one in the future and when we do, it will be another rescue!
