I have 3 Rat Terriers and you do have their personalities right. They are extremely loyal to their people and want to be with you all the time. As a few others have said, there are more color varieties. I do have 2 mostly white tri color's, but I also have a black tuxedo tri-color. The Tuxedo variety comes in black, blue and shades of browns. Also, I have no issues with allergies, but mine have always been on a high quality food. They are awesome little dogs with big hearts!

Thanks for mentioning Ratties, but they do not have that much white, as you can see from my picture:) I am a blue and tan tux with my share of white.

I have two ratties, and after being a big breed owner for decades, this breed has been a delightful change of pace. Playful, sweet, and very loveable. Also very easily trained and maintained!

Actually Rat Terriers can have erect ears, button ears or tipped ears. Although the tail is usually docked, there are more and more Rat Terriers that are sporting their full naturual tails, and they have wonderful tails.

Love these little pups! I have two, along with a Lab. My older Rattie thinks she is a Lab, she swims and chases the tennis ball like her big Lab sister! Must point out, however, that there is a black tri (or tuxedo) Rat Terrier….predominately black, with white chest and legs and brown points on face.

My avatar is my heart dog Oreo Cookie. No matter what kind of day I'm having this little girl can make me laugh and washes away my troubles. And boy does she love her Bully Sticks!
