Introducing Beef Trachea- Made in the USA

Introducing new Beef Trachea from Best Bully Sticks, exclusively Made in the USA! They are just as tasty, crunchy, delicious, and long-lasting as our other Tracheas, just made right here in America!

These Beef Tracheas are extra long-lasting as they are large trachea chews, varying in size from 8" to 13" inches. They are a bit greasy but full of flavor, as all trachea chews are, so we recommend you feed them to your dog outside.

Trachea are probably the most exciting dog chew on the market right now. They are sometimes referred to as "moo-tubes" or "windies". They are a hollow chew that last a long time. Trachea are high in both chondroitin and glucosamine (These naturally occurring agents have both been proven as effective in promoting healthy joints in dogs). Senior Dog Care

Our pets are living longer than ever these days, thanks to advances in veterinary medicine and pet nutrition. As our dogs age, they face a variety of conditions that can negatively affect their health. Some of the conditions that commonly affect senior dogs include diabetes, kidney and liver disease, tumors and cancer, arthritis and other joint pain, obesity and thyroid conditions, as well as dental disorders.

Scheduling regular veterinary examinations is key in keeping your dog healthy. When dogs enter their senior years, regular exams are more important than ever (most recommend twice yearly). Senior care, which starts with regular veterinary exam, is necessary to diagnose or delay the onset of disease; and for the early detection of problems such as organ failure and arthritis.

Veterinarians depend on laboratory results to help them understand your dog's health. When your dog is healthy, laboratory tests determine baseline” values. When your dog is sick, your vet is able to compare the “baseline” values and the current values.  Changes in these laboratory test results, may be a sign of the presence of an underlying disease (lab tests frequently include: blood count, urinalysis, blood chemistry and parasite evaluation).

It is also necessary to keep your senior pooch active.  Activity is necessary to keep your dog at a healthy weight, while helping to maintain proper muscle tone. In addition, choosing a premium dog food and healthy treats will help by giving your pooch the necessary protein and vitamins that they need to stay healthy.  As we mentioned in previous posts, fish oil is a great way to be preventative, none of us consume enough omega 3’s with our normal diets.  Also, including natural sources of glucosamine and chondroitin in our pooches diet can help with hip and joint health (our beef trachea chews and fish chews are a great natural source of this).

Beef Trachea Spirals

We are proud to announce yet another Best Bully Sticks exclusive product, the Spiral Beef Trachea.  This is a new take on an old favorite and is sure to be enjoyed by small and large dogs alike!  This is a 10" long piece of trachea that has been cut to have a spiral shape like our curly bully sticks.

Beef Trachea is an excellent dog chew because it aids in dogs joint health.  Glucosamine and Chondroitin are naturally occuring in the cartilage of the beef trachea.  This dog chew should be easier for smaller dogs to eat because they can get a better grip on it.

You Me and the Dog Days of Summer

Yes it's that time of the year again, Summer. When things slow down, the weather gets warmer and our thoughts seem to drift away like a puffy cloud across the sky.

Here in Richmond Va, those summer days eventually turn into heat index, hazy, lazy days when being outside is a chore in itself. Therefore the time I can spend outside with my two pugs, Sushi and Espy are always precious.  We attempt to go down to Maymont park when the weather and heat permits, and walk around the lake and just enjoy summer breeze and outside atmosphere.

The pugs love it when we break for lunch because they know they will get an extra special dog treat. Lately they have had the benefit of one of our new products the Himalayan Dog Chews.  They truly love these treats but I can't decide if they enjoy the bully sticks more. Knowing these two pugs, they are just trying to play me to get more treats and chews.  But I love them and spoil them, and who am I to deny them of a special healthy dog treat.

As it continues to get hotter and hotter outdoors make sure that when your dog is outside that they have plenty of water, are only outdoors for a limited amount of time, and have ample shade to retreat from the sun. 

We would recommend making your dog(s) healthy summertime cool snacks like homemade ice cream or yogurt.  Make this even more fun by stuffing that ice cream into your dog's beef trachea, hollow shin bones, or toys with treat holes in them.  We are sure that your dog will appreciate this cool summertime snack.
