Weekly Drool Recipe: Parsley Breath Bits from Sweet Paul Mag

Sometimes it’s just unavoidable. Your dog’s breath is a little… stinky. BestBullySticks.com has great news for you! Treat Fido to a tasty treat and help cure his bad breath at the same time. Sweet Paul Mag’s Parsley Breath Bits are just the thing you need!

Ingredients
1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
50 g 1/2 stick melted butter
1/3 cup plain yogurt
1 teaspoon honey
4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Directions
1.Preheat the oven to 400F/200C

2.Place all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.

3.If the dough is too dry add a little water.

4.On a lightly floured surface roll out the dough to about 3/8 inch thick. Cut out squares, transfer to parchment lined baking sheets.

5.Bake the bits for 15-20 minutes.

6.Cool on a wire rack.

Makes about 40. Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.

Weekly Drool Recipe: Peanut Butter Thumbprint Cookies

It’s only 20 days until Christmas! That’s why BestBullySticks.com is going to be sharing festive, yummy dog treats you can whip up for your four-legged house guests and Fido’s friends very quickly. Thumbprint cookies seem to be a staple in many Holiday baked-good gifts, so now you can treat your neighborhood dogs to the same treat. Using all-natural jam and yummy peanut butter, these Thumbprint Dog Treats are sure to make an impression.

Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup peanut butter, creamy
1/2 cup chicken broth, low sodium
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup all-natural strawberry jam, sugar free (see recipe note!)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325° F

2. Whisk together the flour, oats and cinnamon.

3. Place the peanut butter, chicken broth and water in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 15 seconds. Stir together the warm peanut butter and liquids. If needed, microwave again for 10 to 15 seconds. Stir again until all of the liquid is incorporated into the peanut butter.

4. Make a well in the dry ingredients.

5. Pour the peanut butter mixture into the dry ingredients and stir, using a fork, until dough forms.

6. Lightly spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.

7. Using a tablespoon sized cookie scooper, scoop out rounded balls onto the prepared baking sheet. Read more

Weekly Drool Recipe: Peanut Butter Pumpkin Puppy Treats!

Now that we’ve given thanks, it’s time to think of those loved ones and treat them to a special gift of your affection. If some of those loved ones are four-legged, BestBullySticks.com has just the thing to please the pups in your life. With just of your dog’s yummy favorite and a special Fido-friendly frosting, you’ll be the best gift giver around! Enjoy these Peanut Butter Pumpkin Puppy Treats! 

Ingredients
3 cups brown rice flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup peanut butter
2 eggs
1 can (15 oz) pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)

Directions
1. Heat oven to 350° F. In large bowl stir all ingredients until soft dough forms.

2. Divide dough in half. Using brown-rice-floured rolling pin, roll each dough half to 1/2 inch thickness on brown-rice-floured surface. Cut with 3-inch cookie cutter. On ungreased cookie sheet, place cutouts about 1 inch apart.

3. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until dry and golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.

Frosting Ingredients:
1 cup yogurt chips (you can find these at most pet stores!)
1 tsp vegetable oil

Directions:
1. Microwave in microwavable bowl uncovered on High about 1 minute or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Drizzle over puppy treats.

Recipe Notes: Store in dog treat jar at room temperature up to 1 week. For longer storage keep in refrigerator or freezer.

Check with your vet to make sure these puppy treats fit into your dog's diet. Be sure to check the recipe for any known foods or ingredients your pet may be allergic to.
