Weekly Drool Recipe: Peppermint Christmas Chews

Only 13 Days until Christmas! Do your dogs have a treat to leave Santa Paws on Christmas Eve? Try out these Peppermint Christmas Chews from Bunny Roo Beagle’s blog! BestBullySticks.com thinks these are sure to please Santa Paws or any other pup on your Christmas list this Holiday Season!

Ingredients
2 Cups All purpose white flour
1/2 Cup Dry milk
1/2 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/3rd Cup Low sodium beef bouillon powder
2 Eggs
1 Cup Warm water
1/2 tsp Peppermint extract

Directions
1. Preheat oven 350 degrees.

2. Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.

3. Add the eggs, water and peppermint extract. Mix well.

4. Kneed the dough for approximately 2 minutes.

5. Roll dough into small balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Flatten each ball with a fork.

6. Bake for 15 minutes or until bottoms are golden brown.

Weekly Drool Recipe: Peanut Butter Thumbprint Cookies

It’s only 20 days until Christmas! That’s why BestBullySticks.com is going to be sharing festive, yummy dog treats you can whip up for your four-legged house guests and Fido’s friends very quickly. Thumbprint cookies seem to be a staple in many Holiday baked-good gifts, so now you can treat your neighborhood dogs to the same treat. Using all-natural jam and yummy peanut butter, these Thumbprint Dog Treats are sure to make an impression.

Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup peanut butter, creamy
1/2 cup chicken broth, low sodium
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup all-natural strawberry jam, sugar free (see recipe note!)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325° F

2. Whisk together the flour, oats and cinnamon.

3. Place the peanut butter, chicken broth and water in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 15 seconds. Stir together the warm peanut butter and liquids. If needed, microwave again for 10 to 15 seconds. Stir again until all of the liquid is incorporated into the peanut butter.

4. Make a well in the dry ingredients.

5. Pour the peanut butter mixture into the dry ingredients and stir, using a fork, until dough forms.

6. Lightly spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.

7. Using a tablespoon sized cookie scooper, scoop out rounded balls onto the prepared baking sheet. Read more

Weekly Drool Recipe: Peanut Butter Banana Swirls

The slightest smell of cinnamon ushers in the Holiday season. But baking all day is time away from family and friends. That's why today BestBullySticks.com brings you an easy, but impressive doggy treat that will stand up to your pooches taste test, won’t break the bank or take all day! Darla from Darla Cooks lent us this fantastic recipe, which her dogs readily approved of and yours will, too!

Ingredients

Dough One:
4 cups whole wheat flour

½ cup cornmeal

1-1/3 cups water

1/3 cup peanut butter

1 egg

Dough Two
4 cups whole wheat flour

2/3 cup cornmeal

1/2 cup banana, mashed

1 egg

1-1/4 cups water

2 Tbs vegetable oil

2 Tbs molasses

2 Tbs cinnamon

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350° F (180° C). 


2. Combine all Dough One ingredients and mix thoroughly. Knead on a lightly floured surface. Set aside.


3. Combine all Dough Two ingredients and mix thoroughly. Knead on a lightly floured surface. 


4. Roll each dough separately to a 1/8 inch thickness, into rectangles. Lightly brush a little water over the top of the light-colored dough.  Place the darker colored dough on top, then roll up like a jellyroll. Wrap the roll in plastic and chill in the freezer for one hour.

5. Cut the roll into 1/4 inch slices. Place on a cookie sheet sprayed with nonstick spray. Bake for one hour.

Weekly Drool Recipe: Peanut Butter Apple Dog Biscuits from Yuki + Rocket

This time of year, apple orchards around the country are sending delighted locals home with bushels full of all the diversity of the apple world. Red Delicious, Macintosh, Pink Lady, Granny Smith and more are gracing many tarts, pies and jam jars this Fall. BestBullySticks.com knows it wouldn’t be Autumn if the smell of some concoction of baked apples wasn’t wafting out of the kitchen.

Don’t let your dog miss out on the apple harvest! Melissa from her Yuki + Rocket (her two Schnauzers) blog has done it again. Her take on this apple-licious dog treats is sure to please your pooch! Here is Melissa’s recipe for Peanut Butter Apple Dog Biscuits!

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups of brown rice flour
1 1/2 cups wheat germ
2 tbsp flaxseed meal
1 tsp cinnamon
1 medium apple, grated, remove core and all seeds
1 tsp freshly grated ginger
1/2 cup natural smooth peanut butter
1/4 cup honey
1/8 cup of fat free milk

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper

3. In a large bowl, combine brown rice flour, wheat germ, flaxseed meal, and cinnamon.

4. With a fork, fold in apple and ginger, taking care the ginger does not stay in a clump and is evenly distributed throughout the mix.

5. In a separate small bowl, mix the peanut butter and honey. After combined mix it into the large bowl.
