You and your dogs sweet-tooth can be satisfied with a healthier alternative, a delicious and refreshing Parfait. This fruity treat is sure to be a paw pleasure!

Ingredients

1 container (8 oz.) plain yogurt

1/2 cup granola (without raisins, since raisins are toxic to dogs)

1/2 cup berries, such as raspberries and strawberries, coarsely chopped

1 banana, peeled and sliced

1/4 cup chopped fresh mint

1 pinch cinnamon

Directions

Place half the yogurt in a dog food bowl and sprinkle half the granola on top. Top with half the berries, banana and mint. Repeat. Top with the cinnamon.

You don't have to be an accomplished baker to create a homemade batch of dog treats. The secret ingredient is a little bit of love sprinkled in! Whether or not you are an avid baker or its your first time getting your hands messy in the kitchen these Tender Tummy Biscuits are easy and simple to bake & master. Best part is that this recipe is tasty and doggy approved! We hope this recipe will inspire you to get in the kitchen with Fido. Bone Appetit!

Ingredients

1 cup brewed chamomile tea
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup cooked white rice
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1 cup chicken, skinned, boiled, and chopped to 1/2-inch cubes

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

2. Brew a cup of chamomile tea, and allow it to cool to room temperature. (It’s never a good idea to use hot liquids when mixing dough.)

3. Place the flours, rice, and parsley in a large bowl, using your hands or a wire whisk to gently mix the dry ingredients.

4. Add the cottage cheese and brewed tea to the dry ingredients, stirring with a sturdy spoon until the dough becomes pliable. Add the diced chicken cubes and stir until they are evenly mixed into the dough, taking care not to over mix.

5. Place the dough on a floured surface and roll out or pat down to a thickness of 1/2 inch. Using a pizza cutter, make horizontal and vertical slices through the dough to form cube shapes. The size of the cubes will be determined by the size of your dog’s jaw.

6. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet or pan covered with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown.

Tip:

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind when working with meat:

1. Always add the diced chicken to the dough last so that you don’t puree the pieces during the mixing and makeup process;
2. Don’t forget to store the finished biscuits in the refrigerator or freezer until your pet has finished them off.

Chamomile This flower has long been celebrated for its soothing properties. It’s thought to calm upset stomachs and promote drowsiness. In fact, chamomile tea is sometimes called nighty-night tea or sleepy tea because of its sleep-inducing ability. Experts say chamomile tea can also boost the immune system and fight infections associated with colds.

As humans we know the importance of adding vegetables to our daily diet. What about your dog? Don't forget to let your dog veg out! Here is a pawsitively perfect summer salad that your canine paw pal will beg for! Dish up a large bowl of Peanut, Orange and Carrot Salad for both you and Fido.

Ingredients:

• 1/4 cup peanut butter
• 3 tablespoons tamari (dark soy sauce)
• Juice of 1 orange
• One 1-inch piece ginger, peeled and grated
• One 1-pound bag shredded carrots
• 4 scallions, thinly sliced (for people's portions only)
• 1/4 cup chopped peanuts
• Salt and pepper

Directions:

1. In a medium microwaveable bowl, microwave the peanut butter for about 10 seconds to soften. Whisk in the tamari, orange juice and ginger; stir in a splash of hot water if the sauce begins to tighten up.
2. Stir the carrots into the dressing and toss. For your pooch, pack a picnic-size portion and label it.
3. For the people's portions, scatter the scallions and peanuts on the remaining salad; season to taste with salt and pepper.

*** Of course not all food and vegetables are healthy for your dog to eat so do your research first.  If your dog is on a special diet always check with your vet about which foods are appropriate & safe.

We all love Chinese Take out and fried rice is a cuisine staple when eating out or ordering in. But instead of dining out or ordering by delivery how about saving some money with Chinese Take in. One of the simplest meals to make for you and your dog with leftover rice is a batch of homemade Fried Rice. You don't need a fortune cookie to tell you that you and your dog are gonna love this recipe. It's time to "wok the wok" and get cooking chop, chop!

Ingredients:

• 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
• 1/2 cup leftover white or brown rice
• 1/2 cup frozen peas and carrots, thawed
• 1 large egg, beaten

Directions:

In a small skillet, heat the oil over high heat. Add the rice and cook until golden, about 4 minutes. Add the peas and carrots and toss to combine. Scoot the rice-vegetable mixture off to the side; add the egg to the pan and cook, stirring, until set, then mix into the rice. Transfer to a bowl and let cool.
