Best Bully Sticks Hambone for Dogs J Hall5.0Just placed my first order last week from bestbullysticks.com. I will leave reviews on the items I ordered as the dogs use them. Samson and Zorrow love these ham bones, Nothing but slurping and heavy breathing for at least two hours, and they have returned to them every day for the last 5 days
Best Bully Sticks Hambone for Dogs barb4.0I got these for my beagles, they were much bigger than I anticipated. My dogs loved them, took about 2 hours for them to get the meat off. My youngest beagle even ate the knuckles part of the bone. My only concern was that the bone splintered into, ittle pieces afterbthe knuckle partand I took the bone away from them since I was concerned about the splintered pieces. I do think it was too much bone for my dogs, they were very thirsty afterwards and seemed to be in a food "coma."
Tarheel Dry Hambone for Dogs Linda3.0My Aussie loves these and I buy in bulk, not realizing that these need to be kept frozen to preserve since they are all natural and without additives. I found out the hard way, after giving one to my Aussie and she became terribly ill. It was at that point I pulled out the remaining hambones and found mildew on them. I emailed Customer Service and they replied that since these do not have preservatives, freezing is recommended if not used immediately. Thank goodness my Aussie seems OK but beware since there is no warning that these will not maintain their freshness if left at room temperature!
Tarheel Dry Hambone for Dogs Mary A. Mattox5.0My Pomeranian absolutely LOVES this hambone - he's on his 4th one! It's a tad large, but he's a 15 pound Pom, so he's on the larger size himself and can pick up and carry this bone around the house. I do think they'd probably be more suitable for a larger dog like a boxer etc, but my little guy has done just fine with his and I like that they last him so long, and they are big enough that he can't swallow. He goes crazy for this every time I order it. PROS: lasts forever, takes him a couple of weeks to get all the meat off, and then he will chew on the bone for a couple of months or so after that; GREAT price - you get bang for your buck; no chemicals or preservaties added; smells like fresh beef jerky, even makes ME hungry! Not a strong or bad smelling bone though. Have not had any splintering or breaking at all, I'm guessing because his little jaws just aren't strong enough to break this big bone; No stains so far since it's a dry bone, even though he brings it everywhere all over our light carpet and couches; BEST quality - I ordered a similar looking hambone from another site when BestBullySticks was out of stock of it a couple of months ago, and he didn't like this other bone at all - it looked very old and had very little meat on it like this bone does CONS: it does make him very thirsty especially during the first couple of days of chewing the meat off - be prepared for more potty breaks. IMPORTANT: I ordered 2 of them at once so I'd have a backup bone. When he was ready for the 2nd bone I pulled it out of the cabinet and it was covered with mildew and mold! There are no instructions anywhere on website description or the product itself stating that you need to freeze the bone if it's not being used immediately, but hey, now we know! Thank you to the other reviewer who emailed customer service and got the "low down" on it... makes sense, since they are all natural and contain no chemical preservatives, they are perishable. That's a good thing for our pups! I'll freeze them from now on.
